We are pleased to inform you that FAWE will once again be a nominating Agency for the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the United Kingdom. FAWE will be partnering with the CSC in nominating female candidates for master’s study for the scholarships tenable from September/October 2025.

All subject areas are eligible for consideration, although the CSC’s selection criteria give priority to those applications that demonstrates strong relevance to development.

Target Group:

• The scholarship is targeted at Ghanaian young women who have successfully completed their first degree and seeking to pursue further studies in any field of their choice for master’s study

• Past FAWE beneficiaries / FAWE scholarship alumni

• Candidates who have contributed to the promotion of girl’s education, gender equity and equality in education in their current or previous engagements.

• Candidates with first degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are highly encouraged to apply.

JOB VACANCY – PROGRAMME MANAGER

About FAWE 

The Role 

A key strategic objective of FAWE Ghana is to ensure that girls and young women across Ghana have access to quality education and training opportunities to develop relevant skills for the world of work. The Programme Manager (PM) reports to the National Coordinator. The Programme Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the implementation of programmes at FAWE Ghana, especially the Mastercard Foundation partnership that will support marginalized young people to access tertiary education in TVET and University. She or He will provide leadership and technical input in FAWE Ghana programmes as envisaged in the FAWE Strategic Plan (2024 – 2028) and Organisation plans. Specific focus and leadership will be given to implementing an education and skills training programme over a seven-year period. Key results include successfully fostering innovations and advocacy strategies about gender equity and transformative education principles, leadership in building effective partnerships, resource mobilization for scale-up/replication of the programme, monitoring,  evaluation, documentation, learning, capacity building, and quality assurance on implementing the programme.

SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Provide technical and programmatic leadership for an education, skills training, and research programme.  Tasks include oversight and coordination of programme implementation, development of programme strategies, and execution of decisions.
  2. Responsible for attaining deliverables, observing timelines, following budget guidelines, and submitting periodic reports in compliance with the following: the development of partner expectations and highlighting significant change stories; contributing to work plans, funds disbursement, M&E plans and regular monitoring, lobby & advocacy plans, selection of partner CSOs, compliance to FAWE Ghana procedures, funding partner and the respective government regulations. 
  3. Monitor quality assurance processes and systems to ensure the highest quality of the project implementation, risk management, updates to FAWE Ghana management and the funding partner(s). 
  4. Promote the learning agenda for the programme, including periodic  updates to the team and  integration with other FAWE Ghana programs/projects, social inclusion (PWD, Refugees), and digital skills. 
  5. Support advocacy to widen the civic space for Ghanaian girls and young women in all their diversity, emphasize social inclusion, work closely with the other teams to amplify, and 

sustain voice/agency as they demand the realization of education and training rights. 

  • Provide technical input in identifying, developing, and negotiating funding proposals for  FAWE Ghana work. Focus on scale-up and replication of the program. 

           PERSON SPECIFICATION

  1. Master’s degree in social sciences, including Education, Public Health, Political Science, Philosophy, Gender, Law, Sociology, Project Management, or any other relevant discipline. 
  2.  At least ten (10) years’ work experience with a minimum of 5 years working in a complex NGO, international environments with practical field experience. 
  3. Language competency in addition to English, competency in French and at least one Ghanaian language is an added advantage. 
  4. Experience in strategic   partnerships, especially   working   within a consortium         (range of stakeholders) covering more than one partner and government agency.
  5. Programme management skills, including Theory of Change methodology, process management, scheduling, project   control, documentation   development, risk   management   and   quality management, monitoring, and evaluation.

The Role         

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, a pivotal role in our organization, will be responsible for developing tools, designing and delivering mechanisms to aid in the monitoring and evaluation infrastructure for FAWE Ghana. This infrastructure will allow for generating, capturing, and sharing best practices from our strategic initiatives in programme implementation, thereby significantly contributing to our success. The Officer will also assist in undertaking research and preparation of surveys and other data collection activities, further enhancing our ability to make informed decisions.

SUMMARY JOB DESCRIPTION

KEY RESULT AREAS  

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer role offers a unique opportunity to transfer and enhance knowledge and expertise in the M&E field. The Officer is expected to assess and anticipate the knowledge needs of FAWE Ghana, development partners, the Government, and relevant organizations, thereby fostering their own professional growth and development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Monitoring and Evaluation   

• Continuously develop and improve FAWE Ghana’s M&E system, tools, guidelines, information dissemination and data analysis procedures will be used for its various programs.  

• Develop, Monitor and Evaluate frameworks for new programmes/funding proposals and review existing programmes for FAWE Ghana   

• Maintain, update, and upgrade the online database of all FAWE Ghana programmes (Data repository) demonstrative interventions, beneficiaries, partners, and reports.  

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of FAWE Ghana programmes within the framework of results-based management.  

• Contribute to periodic progress and implementation reports and document the impact of FAWE Ghana Programmes and ensure that lessons learned are incorporated into FAWE Ghana’s programme management process.

•  Draft, monitor and review donor reports 

• In collaboration with the Programme staff, to ensure that FAWE’s Annual work plans and programmes are developed using a results-based perspective, and M&E is integrated into the entire program cycle.  

• Improve and Manage  M&E systems such as IATI reporting  

• Evaluate  the organization’s compliance with the Strategic plan and annual work plan  

Documentation and Learning  

• Provide advisory support on the implementation and management of flexible and simple recording and lesson-sharing methods at Programme, National, and International levels to promote learning across programmes and contribute to an overall impact assessment framework.  

• In collaboration with the Programme staff, ensure that FAWE Ghana’s periodic work plans and programmes are developed using a results-based perspective and that M&E is integrated into  the entire program cycle  

• Working with other partners and donors M&E staff, analyse, maintain, and supply evidence on the emerging culture of learning  

• Coordinate baseline, mid-line, and end-line surveys, external reviews, and evaluations of FAWE Ghana’s work includes drafting TORs for project evaluations and studies.  

• Organize internal and external training workshops, information sessions, and seminars to build up the M&E capacity of the program and M&E staff throughout the FAWE Ghana programme on new  updates and methods in maintaining an effective M&E system.  

• Take the lead in setting and implementing accountability mechanisms within the FAWE Ghana 
• Help create a culture of sharing this knowledge among staff, grantees, community partners, opinion leaders, and peers  

• Relation building and partner relationship building and representing FAWE Ghana. 

• Work closely with the Communication Officer to enrich and update the web page of the FAWE GH. 

  • Content development for the website 

 Applied Research  

• Coordinate baseline, mid-line, and end-line surveys, external reviews, and evaluations of FAWE Ghana’s work includes drafting TORs for project evaluations and studies.  

• Identify the need and draw terms of reference and concept notes for specific studies/research 

• Provide Support in revamping the Research Unit at FAWE Ghana

Capacity Building  

• Organize internal and external training workshops, information sessions, and seminars to build up the M&E capacity of the programme and M&E staff throughout the FAWE Ghana network on new updates and methods in maintaining an effective M&E system.  

• Support FAWE Ghana on Data visualization, digitalization, AI and machine learning, generating information and producing meaningful reports. 

• Analyze collected lessons learned and recommendations for best practices in improving and promoting girls’ and women’s education in Ghana, as well as the overall operation of the   FAWE Ghana

• Play a key role in knowledge integration and dissemination, as well as introducing new tools and technology that can enhance the function of the FAWE Ghana Resource and Documentation Centre 

• Establish effective networking with relevant networks, organizations, and other partners in developing knowledge products related to girls’ education in Ghana.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Master’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development  Studies,  Statistics Project  Management, Sociology, Information Technology, or any other relevant subject 
  • At least 7 years’ experience in M&E with 5 years of CSO experience. 
  • Good understanding of M&E Approaches such as outcome-based Management, Outcome Harvesting, and Mapping; Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; and knowledge of different M&E  and program management software. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills, including supervising and working effectively in a team and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. 
  • Superior written and oral communication skills. This includes communication with broad and diverse audiences and experience in assessing work-flow arrangements and training needs. 
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan, synthesize, and integrate knowledge and learning and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment. 
  • Knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods, study methodology, tools for capturing knowledge and learning stories, data Analysis tools and software, MEL tools and techniques, and the application of computer software (MS Excel, ERP system, SPSS, GIS, data visualization software) and monitoring devices is vital.
  • Good communication skills and experience working with partners and donors; pro-activeness, positive attitude, and professional integrity are required as well.
  • Basic knowledge in Gender and Education concepts

The Role 

The role of the Human Resource/Safeguarding Officer at FAWE Ghana is crucial. You will be responsible for managing various aspects of employee welfare and safety, including recruitment, on-boarding, training, managing employee lifecycles, and managing employee benefits. Your role also involves ensuring compliance with labour laws, handling grievances, and promoting a safe and respectful work environment. In terms of safeguarding, you will play a key role in implementing policies and procedures to protect vulnerable individuals from harm or abuse within FAWE Ghana and its related partners and networks. We are looking for a committed individual who is familiar with NGOs’ human resource/safeguarding roles. You should be a passionate, proactive individual who aligns with FAWE Ghana values and is comfortable working collaboratively with a team, external stakeholders, and young people. This position lies within the Programmes and Administration Unit and reports to the Programmes Manager. The role holder will be expected to work outside the usual role and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

           EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  Essential

  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (essential) • Member of IHRM • CHRP Qualification
  • A master’s degree in any of these areas will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in Human Resources 
  • Previous 3+ years experience in HR, specifically in non-profit organizations/non-governmental organizations. 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and multicultural office (preferred)
